The Pipistrel Virus SW 121A Explorer is a fun, fast two-seater that we use in training for long navigation flights. The Explorer is the most fuel-efficient high-speed cruiser and certainly the fastest high-wing aircraft in its category. The aircraft is made of ultra-modern composite materials, lightweight, robust and has an unprecedented useful load capacity of more than 300 kg (660 lbs).
How does it work?
The rental of the Pipistrel Virus SW 121A Explorer costs €255 per hour: these are the minutes shown on the Hobbs meter. If the flight duration is much longer than 60 minutes, we will charge €4.25 per additional minute afterward. The minimum rental time is 60 minutes.
This rate includes:
- VAT
- Fuel
- One local landing at Teuge (multiple landings or outbound landings are at your own expense and will be invoiced afterward)
- CO2 compensation in collaboration with TreeByTree
On which days and times can I rent your aircraft?
This depends on our lesson schedule. In principle, booking earlier means more flexibility. Flying is possible within the opening hours of the airport (Teuge) and as long as E-Flight staff are present in the building for supervision.
You can see the available dates and times when you select "Choose date and time" on this page. You will see slots of one hour with a half-hour buffer before and after the slot. If you want to fly multiple hours, simply book consecutive slots or call 055 203 2230 and we'll help you arrange it.
If there's nothing suitable, you can coordinate with us by phone.
Day trips, weekend trips or more
If you want to go away longer with our aircraft, for example to Texel for lunch, or somewhere for a weekend, this is only possible if no lessons are booked for the aircraft. In addition to the costs for the flying time, you will also pay a fee if you leave the aircraft on the ground somewhere for longer than an hour. We will settle this afterward. You only pay for the hours on the ground during opening hours (because then we cannot use the aircraft ourselves).
Conditions
To fly with our aircraft, you must meet several conditions.
- You possess a valid Single Engine Piston rating and have successfully completed a check-out flight with one of our instructors before renting for the first time.
- We ask you to carefully read and sign our rental agreement and safety declaration. You should have done this immediately following your training. Upload this signed document in your Wings before you rent.
- You have made at least 1 flight with our Explorer in the past 60 days. If not, you will need to make another flight with an instructor. See https://www.eflight.nl/products/30-minute-check-out
- You have, of course, a valid license and valid medical certificate
Flying on weekends
This is possible, we are open every day. Please keep in mind that Teuge airport charges higher landing fees for all flights during the period from early April to late September. Therefore, the rental price is higher during weekends in this period.
